Refund & Returns Policy for Blackcyclopedia
Thank you for supporting Blackcyclopedia.
As part of our commitment to celebrating African cultures, languages, heritage, and diaspora communities, many of the products sold through Blackcyclopedia are custom-made and produced specifically for each customer after an order is placed.
Because our products are personalized and manufactured on demand, special return and refund conditions apply.
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
1. Custom-Made and Print-on-Demand Products
Most Blackcyclopedia products are produced individually after an order is submitted.
These products may include:

Apparel

T-shirts
-
Hoodies
-
Sweatshirts
-
Mugs
-
Tote bags
-
Mouse pads
-
Posters
-
Books
-
Educational materials
-
Cultural merchandise
-
Limited edition collections
-
Personalized products
As these items are created specifically for each customer, they cannot be resold once produced.
2. No Returns for Change of Mind
Because products are custom-made, Blackcyclopedia does not accept returns or provide refunds for:

Change of mind

Incorrect size selection

Incorrect color selection
-
Incorrect product selection
-
Personal preference
-
Ordering by mistake

No longer wanting the item
-
Delays caused by customs or shipping carriers
Customers are encouraged to carefully review product descriptions, sizing information, and order details before completing a purchase.
3. Cancellation Requests
Orders may only be canceled before production begins.
Once an order enters production, cancellation is no longer possible because manufacturing has already started.
If you wish to request a cancellation, please contact us immediately after placing your order.
Cancellation requests are not guaranteed.
4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
We will gladly review requests for replacement or refund if a product:

Arrives damaged

Contains a manufacturing defect

Is significantly different from the approved order

Is incorrect due to our fulfillment process
To qualify, customers must contact us within:
7 days of delivery
and provide:

Order number

Description of the issue

Clear photographs of the product

Photographs of the packaging if applicable
5. Replacement Policy
When a claim is approved, Blackcyclopedia may choose to:

Replace the product

Reprint the product
-
Issue a partial refund

Issue a full refund
The resolution will depend on the nature of the issue and available inventory.
6. Lost Packages
If tracking information indicates that a package has been lost during transit, we will investigate the matter with the shipping provider.
If the package is officially determined to be lost, Blackcyclopedia may provide a replacement or other appropriate resolution.
7. Incorrect Shipping Address
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.
Blackcyclopedia is not responsible for packages that cannot be delivered due to:

Failure to collect packages
Orders returned because of incorrect customer information may require additional shipping fees before reshipment.
8. Refused Deliveries
If a customer refuses delivery of an order, the order will generally not qualify for a refund because the product was custom-produced specifically for that customer.
Any exceptions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
9. International Orders
International customers may be responsible for:

Handling fees
These charges are imposed by local authorities and are not refundable by Blackcyclopedia.
Refunds will not be issued because a customer refuses to pay customs fees or import charges.
10. Digital Products and Services
Unless otherwise stated, digital products and services are generally non-refundable once access has been granted.

Exceptions may be granted where required by applicable law.
11. Membership Programs
Membership fees are generally non-refundable after the billing period has started.
Members may cancel future renewals according to the terms of their membership plan.
Cancellation will stop future charges but will not normally result in refunds for periods already paid.
12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Customers are encouraged to contact Blackcyclopedia directly before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.
We are committed to resolving concerns fairly and efficiently whenever possible.
Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account restrictions or suspension.
13. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that may apply under local consumer protection laws.
Where mandatory legal rights provide additional protections, those rights shall prevail.
